Interesting Fact Game

This game has several variants. We’ve played it with the middle schoolers, advanced students, intermediates, and beginners.

The basic idea: Go around the room and have all the students say their names. Students are then given a small slip of paper and write down an interesting fact about themselves, without signing their names. Fold the papers, put all into a hat or bag, and each students draws out a slip of paper (not their own). One students begins by reading aloud the slip he or she drew. The student then guesses who the fact belongs to. Once they guess, the person who the fact was about reads his or her slip of paper. This continues until all the facts have been read.

Other items that students could write:

1. Favorite book

2. If you could be a fruit, what would you be?

3. Favorite animal

4. If you could change your name, what would you change it to?

This is a great game to use for a first meeting OR if there are suddenly many new students that you don’t know.
